We Are Inspiring
The Next Generation
Of Aviators!

ABOUT US
The Skyranch Youth Aviation Program was born in 2019 from the vision of pilot Jesse Katz. He wanted to provide opportunities for Middle and High School aged youth to earn time in the cockpit by repairing and disassembling airplanes in his hangar at Skyranch Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee. The program's goal is to teach youth aviation skills and teamwork to create the next generation of aviators. Our first work session began on September 12, 2019 with three boys and three girls. Through the help of adult volunteers from the aviation community in Knoxville, the SKY Program continues to grow and be successful.

WHAT WE DO
We provide our youth with fun and interesting opportunities to learn about aviation.

WORK SESSIONS
Once a week, the program members meet in the hanger and participate in s multitude of projects ranging from engine overhauls, avionics installations, and other aircraft repairs to trade-skill projects. Students gain real, practical experience that goes far beyond the classroom.

LEARNING SESSIONS
Our adult volunteers consist of Certified Flight Instructors, mechanics, and pilots. They provide lectures and hands on demonstrations to teach our youth how to become successful pilots and mechanics.
