ABOUT US

Home: Who We Are

The Skyranch Youth Aviation Program was born in 2019 from the vision of pilot Jesse Katz. He wanted to provide opportunities for Middle and High School aged youth to earn time in the cockpit by repairing and disassembling airplanes in his hangar at Skyranch Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee.   The program's goal is to teach youth aviation skills and teamwork to create the next generation of aviators.  Our first work session began on September 12, 2019 with three boys and three girls.  Through the help of adult volunteers from the aviation community in Knoxville, the SKY Program continues to be successful.
